Manufacturer of C-View and C-Com Medical Imaging and Communication Systems Sees Opportunities as Technology Gains in Procedure Suites

BOSTON – July 22, 2011 – Carrot Medical, a leading manufacturer of integrated medical imaging display and communication systems, has announced results for Q2 2011. During the year, Carrot Medical achieved significant growth in sales and an expansion of sales channels.

Concluding the first half of 2011 with record second quarter sales, Carrot surpassed its revenue mark for the full year in FY 2010. The company is now well positioned for the third straight year of triple digit growth. Since inception, Carrot has received orders for more than 50 ofits C-View systems, a premium class medical imaging and data integration solution.

Craig Dickinson, Carrot Medical’s VP of sales points out, “In a forward perspective, contrasting our earliest installations in Electrophysiology labs, the utilization of Carrot’s technology is expected to expand into traditional Catheterization, Interventional and Neuroradiology labs, as well as Hybrid OR suites. This broad adoption of the technology is further reason for continued optimism in 2011 and beyond.”

“Hospitals are continuing to expand and modernize their cardiovascular programs, adding new technology to the procedure suite. Carrot Medical’s vision, since our inception in 2008, has been to integrate this technology, creating a more efficient clinical environment. We are continuing to take advantage of the market demand we created when we launched our C-View system at the RSNA in November 2008,” said Ward Sparacio, CEO of Carrot Medical. “Our pipeline and opportunity portfolio has grown by more than 40 percent in the past 6 months alone.”

Sparacio also points to Carrot Medical’s continued focus on measuring customersatisfaction, using a Net Promoter Scoring methodology. A Net Promoter Score measures how likely it is a customer would recommend a company to a friend or colleague. Carrot has achieved a Net Promoter Score of 88% in the past year on post-installation surveys, which places it among the most esteemed companies.

Carrot Medical is the manufacturer of C-View, an information technology solution that integrates medical images and other visual data onto a single, ultra-high-definition display. Carrot Medical also offers, C-Com, a communication system that allows greater collaboration among clinical team members, while reducing noise and distraction during procedures. Both systems have been purchased by leading healthcare institutions for use within cardiovascular interventional suites.

Company to Demonstrate Technology at Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting

BOSTON – Dec. 2, 2009 – Carrot Medical, a leader in visual and audio integration products for the next-generation cardiology suite, announced today that it has received ISO 13485 certification. The certification covers the company’s C-View and C-Com product lines, which both improve workflow and optimize clinical performance in the operating room.

The ISO Certification confirms that Carrot Medical has successfully implemented a quality management system that adheres to the worldwide standard for design and manufacture of medical devices. In addition, achieving certification validates Carrot Medical’s commitment to meeting and exceeding customer, regulatory and quality standards with regards to its product suite. The company’s audit
was conducted by BSI, a leading global independent certifier of management systems.

“Receiving ISO Certification is a tremendous milestone for our organization. ISO certification serves as evidence of the high level of business competency Carrot Medical demonstrates, from the quality of our products to our operational discipline,” said Ward Sparacio, CEO of Carrot Medical. “Furthermore, due to the international recognition of ISO 13485, Carrot is now in a position to expand our channel opportunities and grow our business globally.”

ISO 13485 is an International Organization for Standardization (IS0) classification that focuses on the unique and rigorous requirements for companies involved in the development of medical devices. Manufacturers must demonstrate that quality management systems are implemented and maintained to receive the certification, which addresses such quality issues as risk management, sterilization and traceability.

Carrot Medical’s technology integrates with the video and audio technologies of existing OEM’s in the surgical suite. Carrot’s C-View monitoring solution consolidates up to 24 third-party video input sources into a single lossless video feed displayed in real time on a single 56-inch LCD display. Carrot’s C-Com audio system provides an efficient and subtle method for whisper-quiet communication between control and procedure rooms. A third product, Carrot’s C-Stream, synchronizes video and audio into a recording and Internet broadcasting solution, allowing for both improved collaboration among remote clinical team members and for innovative educational opportunities.

Carrot Medical is showcasing its C-View, C-Com and C-Stream technology at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting November 29 through December 4. These technologies will be on display in conjunction with GE Healthcare and Mavig GmbH. RSNA comes on the heels of highly visible appearances at the Medica World Forum in Germany (with Mavig GmbH) and
at the Medicine International Trade Fair in Washington, D.C. for the United
States Congress.

Technology Installed at Yale Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center

BOSTON – Nov. 4, 2009 – Carrot Medical has announced its successful completion of product installations at four top hospitals in the U.S. With the recent installations of its C-View™ system, the Boston-based company has installed a total of seven of its state-of-the-art information integration systems
at four sites – Yale Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Carrot’s C-View replaces the multiple monitor configuration traditionally used by clinicians to monitor patients, with a single 56-inch LCD display with four times the resolution of standard high-definition monitors. The single display enables users to integrate information from multiple vendors, including x-ray, MRI, 3-D Mapping systems, ultrasound and other visual modalities and data sources.

In addition to its video integration technology, the Carrot C-View system uses a 3840×2160 LCD display that has 4 times more scanning lines than conventional HD monitors and can integrate up to 24 video sources and display up to 16 images simultaneously. When integrated with Carrot’s C-Com wireless communication system, the entire solution synchronizes clinical activities and provides for improved collaboration among clinical team members.

“Carrot Medical’s technology is the way of the future when it comes to information integration for top-tier facilities like ours.
The system also facilitates remote educational instruction by transmitting real time audio and visual information in a single, synchronized file and, allows instant access to archived, synchronized multi-image recording and playback.

“These hospitals are on the cutting edge when it comes to realizing the benefits of technology in optimizing performance, control and precision and we are providing them with the most advanced, customizable solution in the information integration arena,” said Ward Sparacio, CEO of Carrot Medical. “As hospitals experience a continued increase in volume, Carrot’s technology, will support the industry’s requirement for improved workflow and safe and efficient use of clinical space.”

The company currently has a number of installations pending, according to Sparacio. The three main markets for the Carrot system are currently electrophysiology, interventional radiology and interventional cardiology.
